Capitol Technology University is an all around great school. That being said, it is only that if you are looking for a place to study, learn, and prepare yourself for your future career. CTU is split pretty evenly on students that want to be there to have fun, and students who want to work. Those who are there just to have fun tend to gripe about a lack of social events going on at school. Those who are serious about their education tend to gripe about how simple the classes are.

It is true that not much goes on at CTU. If you do not have a car, you are practically stuck on campus at all times. That being said, CTU does provide monthly events that they attempt to use to alleviate the lack of a social life most people have. However, many of these events tend to be unpopular. This is not because they choose things to do that appeal to no one, but because many individuals are asocial and would prefer to stay in their dorms and hang out with roommates. Overall, CTU does try and sometimes succeeds at creating fun social gatherings. I have personally attended many LAN parties that were tons of fun.

Addressing the content you learn, I like to think of CTU as Mr. Miyagi. You really don't realize how much you have learned until you are out there, in the field, doing it is what you have been studying for. Most classes provide hands on experience in fields such as Electrical Engineering, Information Assurance, and Computer Science. You will be creating physical circuits. You will be programming after and during every class. You will be using intrusion detection software to understand network security. At the time, it can just seem like play or mundane tasks. Once your education is done though, it is easy to see how well thought out the degree programs actually are. This school doesn't only give you an education, but also provides you with practical experience that is applicable in your future jobs. Include this with a job guarantee and partnerships with NASA and the National Security Agency, and you have created quite the powerful institution.

All in all I highly recommend Capitol Technology University. If you are interested in getting a high paying job in a technology field that interests you, it is the school for you. If you are looking for an easy ride where you can party and play games with friends, you are looking in the wrong place. Although it has the same blips as any school, (a few bad teachers, a lack of funding in some departments) overall I could not recommend it enough.
