I am in my Junior year and doing well academically. It has helped me land three excellent co-ops with major defense and engineering contractors. This school is not very fun socially, but the academics are suitable. More importantly, the outside perception of the school is that it is exceptional and it's also good for networking (ie. you will get a good job). I recommend trying to do well academically, to distinguish yourself and get the best internships possible. Besides, the social life is non-existent, so you might as well buckle down. The strange thing is, many students still choose to neglect there studies and drink their time here away, which baffles me because it's not even a fun school. Academically, there is a good balance of theory and practical (hands-on) application. There are good and bad teachers, but overall the engineering programs are sufficient—I've learned quite a lot. My one complaint is that the school is still behind the curve in regards to computer based programs, automation, etc. But, it also offers a plethora of other material and practical applications which other programs lack. Overall, I can already see that it is going to be worth it. |
