I graduated from Hillsdale College in 2007. I wouldn't trade my overall experience for anything. I made some very good friends, had a great time and got a good education. Some pros and cons:

PROS: The academics were top notch. My class sizes were small enough all my professors knew my name and were always willing to stay after classes if anybody needed individual attention or help. The professors by and large were very good, most of the courses were challenging and interesting.

I played basketball, which was one of many D2 (read: athletic scholarship) sports Hillsdale offered which was a wonderful experience. I never had a hard time finding parties, they were mostly small (no 10 keggers or anything) but still very fun. Not everyone there is a socially backward homeschool kid (some of those homeschool kids actually end up partying suprisingly hard) and if you are a sociable person you will make a lot of good friends.

There are lots of lakes around there for fishing, hiking, etc.

Hillsdale has great name recognition. When I tell a prospective client I went to Hillsdale they usually respond:

Really, that's a great school!

CONS: Hillsdale is small. The school is small and so is the town. If a huge school and bustling town are what your looking for, this place would be hell. You are never anonymous. If you do something stupid everybody knows about it. Also they treat you like children. "House moms" routinely search your dorm rooms for contraband like beer, etc. Any trace of marijuana (yes a decent number of people smoke weed there) gets you instantly expelled. The girls dorms are policed extremely tight. They will right you a ticket if you stay in a girls room past ~9:00 p.m. on a weeknight. However, if you eventually get off campus (you have to have a signed permission slip from mommy and daddy) you can do whatever you want.
