I was so excited to be going back to school, but due to needing to keep my full time job I opted to take online courses. RMCAD's online program is not geared towards the working class. The drafting class, which is a joke had over 8 hour projects with due dates that just weren't easy to meet working full time. I also was misinformed by the financial aid department to leave my husbands information off of my FASFA as I was recently married. I was then awarded a grant, which over halfway through my first semseter was taken away from me and I was told I would owe it all out of pocket. Then to make things even worse, I realized that this school was not going to assist me in gaining a fulfilling degree that was worth the money it was costing me I withdrew from the course I was currently enrolled in. Per the student handbook you had two weeks to withdraw, which I was within upon filling out paperwork. After fighting with the so called board I was told I hadn't made it within the period of time necessary and that I owed for the entire course I hadn't even taken. The best part when I went to use the student handbook as a reference the drop period portion was no longer available. Luckily in speaking to someone higher up in the financial aid department they refunded me the grant that was taken away but I still had to pay $1900-$2000 for a class I never took. This school does not care about it's students, just the money and the teachers don't even teach you anything you couldn't learn on your own. Don't waste your money on this school. I assure you it's not worth it. |
