Wayne State University provides NO help in understanding financial issues such as FAFSA or any other type of student loan. They people that handle the calls, which if you do call expect to wait 30-40 minutes, are arrogant and the least bit helpful. As a student who has a plan to graduate, the financial department will try to hold you back as long as they can without a single care of your time and effort. As a single woman who works two jobs, I keep my finances under control. Unfortunately, WSU will bill you for anything from $125 orientation fee to fees for labs and other miscellaneous things. These types of fees should be wrapped up in the bill that is sent to FAFSA or other private loan. They provide NO help. Financial advisors provide no advice. So, if you are low income, work hard, have good credit, pay your bills on time while living within your means, do NOT attend this university. They will hold you back because at the end of the day the student here at Wayne State University is just another dollar sign. |
