Drew University needs an overhaul. The campus is truly falling apart. Nothing there is maintained well from the dorms, to the commons area, even to the classrooms. Compared to other colleges, this school is a dump. Many people will speak lovingly about Drew's wooded campus, but when there is a storm, the campus is littered with deadwood and debris and major flooding as well in certain areas. To me, going to college in a park, was not my idea of a good time. The school has fallen on some difficult times as well. Academically, the school does not have the rigorous standards of most liberal arts colleges. The professors do not go out of their way to challenge students because they know that a lot of students in the school lack motivation, though certainly not all of the students. I found that my experience at Drew was quite boring. The campus lacks anything remarkable, as it is situated in a NYC bedroom community that offers little to the students. Socially, the students are a bit awkward and not the most remarkable. It is a school of B students who don't really have a lot of social skills. I would take a look at the school and see for yourself if it is the kind of place you would like to attend. In my opinion, it is not worth the money. |
