I cannot wait to transfer out of this university. SOU is a joke. It's a 4-year community college. A lot of the students here are theater majors, which is to me—and I apologize to any theater students who may read this—a complete and utter joke. What job are you ever going to get with your theater degree from a subpar state school? You have got to be kidding me. The school is very inclusive, which I commend it for, but a lot of VERY strange and weird people are drawn to this school (and I attribute that to the huge theater program, but I digress). Most of them are not even quirky—I'm very quirky myself, but all around, I'd say I'm pretty normal—but just plain strange. However, I have one problem bigger than weird people: stupid people. Most people at this school can't hold a coherent conversation about a topic of any depth. I've had maybe 3 intellectual conversations since I've been here, and all of them have occurred over the phone with friends who don't go here.Ashland is boring and so is Medford. Nothing to do at all. SOU boasts about how safe Ashland is, but I've been followed by someone on multiple occasions when walking around downtown at night. The campus is a bit more safe, if you discount the bomb threat. The academics? Also a joke. The only way you can fail is if you're completely illiterate. |
