I have completed three semesters at mines working toward a mechanical engineering degree. The school itself has a high reputation amongst the engineering community and has a lot of great statistics on paper, though it is very different once you start taking classes. The school is just as hard as they say it is. If you're above average, you must be very dedicated to pass your classes. When making your decision to attend be ready to work hard for 4 years unlike most colleges where your first one or two years will be the most intense. Mines is great for the dedicated aspiring engineers who don't mind the lack of epic parties or intense social lives. Most students are quiet, brainy, and shy. Overall you must do everything for yourself at mines, don't expect much help from the campus faculty. |
