I wanted to go to a small college since I don't like very big places, especially big universities where people are overwhelming, What I liked of North central is that they made me choose a minor out of my program, which was music. This helped me to be more well rounded within the Gen Ed requirements. So, I could hone my musical skills without neglecting other courses which are also important, like writing, composition and communication. Also, all music students have to be in one of the extracurricular music ensembles, like the Concert Winds, Symphonic Winds, CardinalChorus, Concert Choir, Women?s Chorale, or Chamber String Ensemble. I strongly recommend the Naperville Chorus. They usually perform in the Wentz Concert Hall, which has almost perfect acoustics, and is also the place where groups like the Canadian Brass have performed in many occasions. My favorite professor was also a North Central College alumnus, who was very passionate for teaching. |
