This school is a trap. It's barely maintained and what little is done is by the students because this is a work college, and yet the tuition has gone up every year since I started. The Administration even explicitly stated that they would not raise tuition higher then the $36,000 a year it already was when i got here. It was raised $2,500 dollars the next year and now, 7 semesters later it is over 42 thousand a year. The faculty is great for the most part, but the better the professor, the more likely they are to jump ship, because it isn't exactly a secret that Wilson is sinking fast. If you are straight, white, cis gendered, in other words the majority, don't go to Wilson. I have been falsely accused of racism once, and sexism twice. I am constantly attacked by students that identify outside of the gender binary because everyone who comes here has always been picked on back home and wants a chance to level the playing field. They think that because the school is diversity friendly it means they can constantly verbally assault the white, cis gendered people they resent so much. As far as ethnic diversity goes we have about 30 black kids and maybe 50 more that aren't white, out of 900 on a good year, however currently enrollment is below 700. Oh and no matter how dirty they look here, 90% of the students that attend Wilson would never have to work a day in their lives if they didn't want to. |
