I am a Fashion Merchandising student at the university. The main reason why I chose to attend this school is because it's one of the very few schools in my area that offer a major in fashion. My professors have been very attentive when I need help in class. There are also many clubs and organizations that you could join. I am a member of University Singers, UB Ballroom Club and UB Fashion Merchandising Club. Even if you are not a fashion major, you could still take fashion classes as an elective and be a member of the fashion club. I am a residential student and I am currently living in Barnum Hall. Although there is no A/C, you could always go to the store before moving in and buy a fan or two. Also, ALL residence halls are WiFi accessible. You could always buy an Ethernet cable for your laptop just in case. Generally in Barnum, you will have up to two other roommates. As far as security and safety on campus, we have a PAL that we receive at our orientation. When you feel your life's in danger, all you have to do is press the PAL and campus security comes right away. I generally feel safe walking around on campus day and night. The faculty and students here have been very accepting and friendly. What I love about UB is that it's a smaller campus, so it's very easy to recognize someone and remember their name. Overall, I have had a positive experience here at UB! |
