I graduated from USF in the late 80s. I would not, did not, recommend this school to my nieces nor nephew. The reason? Tuition is far more than what I paid without a concomitant increase in academic quality. I worked for UPS delivering furniture, tutored, received grants and scholies. My entire total of student loans amounted to $4,000 which didn't accrue interest while was an undergrad. Despite the fact that USF was much better than average while I attended, currently it just isn't worth the cost. I hold Catholic unis to far higher standards than I do secular schools, and I find that all are lacking. They have used the same business model as public colleges, that means, massive debt for non-academic reasons. If that's so, then attend a community college and transfer to a state uni which gives you the most financial aid that isn't premised on debt. Unless you're attending a top elite US private university, which USF isn't, then it makes no sense to pay a premium… |
