New Paltz is an artsy town. If you're not artsy, don't go. Also it's not big into sports, nightlife sucks, people are artsy, town is filled with hippies, food is terrible. If you want to go to target or Walmart, or any big stores like that and malls, have fun driving a half hour to Kingston or Poughkeepsie. Many places in town are little individual-owned stores and restaurants. Also, they pride themselves on academics. I don't feel very challenged sometimes, especially with online work since you could look up the answers. I feel like I should be more challenged in my work and that I should learn more. Bottom line: If you want any big name stores/restaurants, a fun and modern town, and people who aren't artsy, go to a different school. If you want to be challenged, go to a different school. |
