I graduated from Drew one year ago and was employed in a job in my field a week before graduation, an accomplishment which I attribute entirely to the quality of my education at Drew. If you're looking for a school with a lot of name recognition and prestige than Drew may not be for you. However, if you're looking for a school where you'll receive a very personalized education with lots of room for exploration then Drew is the perfect school. Also, don't underestimate the significance of the proximity to NYC and a wide range of internships can also supplement the on-campus education. My response to all of the negative comments on here, is that Drew is really a school for people who want to craft their own educational experience and are self motivated enough to do so, with the help of the wonderful faculty. On a more specific note, the Studio Art department is incredible. All of the faculty are very intelligent and well informed and for a small liberal arts college like Drew, the facilities are amazing (including a black and white darkroom with around 16 enlargers, a printmaking studio and a new digital lab). Many of the professors also live and work in NYC and have great connections in the city and are involved in the contemporary art scene in the mecca of the art world. |
