If you can afford a better university, go! Professors are frequently unfamiliar with their own course material across the board. I have had chem professors start examples on the board, work them half way through and give up, telling the students that if they want to prepare for the test they can look up how to work it out online. Foreign language departments are actively pushing for total online immersion with no face-to-face interaction. This makes SPEAKING a foreign language very difficult with 0 contact hours. If you do register for classes, most teachers are not fully fluent, disorganized, and of little help if asked language-specific questions about grammar and syntax or word choice. Rosetta Stone is more effective at conveying the message as is the free software, Duolingo. Also, the money that you save in tuition will be spent on parking tickets. The department does not label its parking lots and if you spend the time to learn the correct designations, and park in them depending on your status as a resident or commuter, you will still receive tickets days before registration for the next semester's classes. This is done because outstanding tickets are active holds on student registration. Until you pay tickets, you cannot register for classes or graduate. The appeals process takes over a week so you have a choice as a VSU student, wait for the appeal on your ticket, which was given to you for parking validly with a decal, and lose seats in classes that you need for graduation or pay the $15-$60 that they extort you for. Note, there are no refunds after you pay the ticket and you will receive more than one ticket an hour. 5 tickets=towing your vehicle with the $50 decal you paid for to the vehicle impound. You CANNOT appeal after you have paid the ticket in order to register. They have you right where they want you and I have paid just under $1000 in said tickets before graduation. You get what you pay for right?
