After sending my son to MI and his complaints to mother and I many, many times about 2 teachers giving him a hard time about being into the metal genre even having one of the teachers tell him that he will never go anywhere if he plays in the Metal Genre is totally unacceptable! My son told me that he had discussed the problems several times with his counselor but felt nothing was done to fix the problem. My son is a very nonconfrontational kid and probably said no names to his counselor. Ultimately I cannot say that my son didn't learn something while attending this school however my son used to play allot for his mother and I and he has not played for us in the last 2 months since he has graduated. He has stated to me that he hasn't because MI basically left a really so to say a bad taste in his mouth about playing and it will take him some time to get though his feelings about it. To earn a Bachelors of Arts in Guitar and Guitar Craft and now he doesn't want to play guitar tells me that there are some serious issues happening there at this school. Teachers are there to teach, support and mentor the students no matter the genre that they are into not degrade them. I am rather upset about this I feel like students just like my son are just there just so that the school can collect the GI Bill and VA Funds from the Government. I worked very hard for, earned and passed onto him my GO Bill benifits. I know allot of people within the VA system having spent 30 years Serving our great Country and I plan to to do what I can to have this school investigated and ensure that school can no longer recieve Gi Bill nor VA funding for any student. I am also going to ensure that this is spread as much as I possibly can throughout Social Media, the Internet and the media. Have a nice day!
