I hate Fordham and my biggest regret was choosing this school. I have completed one year here and it could not have been worse. First off, I am a commuter, the lowest group on Fordham's hierarchy. The administration could not care less about us. There are less than five places that commuters can stay during the day, the most popular of which the the lounge. The student lounge is a moderately sized room in the basement of McGinely center. There are no windows and it floods every single time it rains. By the end of the year, the carpet had been soaked through so many times over that the lounge smelled like a horrible combination of mold and fish. It was so bad that it made it difficult to breathe and people had to stoo coming. Commuters are rarely involved in any on or off campus events because nobody bothers to invite them. Secondly, Fordham's core curriculum is ridiculous. We have over 16 requirements from 2 religions, 2 philosophys, 4 semesters of foreign language, 2 social sciences, 2 histories, 2 english/ writing classes. They have so many requirements so that you are forced to fill up most of your four years with gen eds and if you happen to slip up, you are forced to spend another semester, thus making more money for the university. Fordham is only concerned with money. All the policies and actions of the administration is some back door way to generate more of a profit. It is absolutely not worth it. I felt like coming here gas set myself up for failure which is why i am transferring and if you go here, you will understand why.
