If you are an athlete and this is your only D-1 offer, or your best situation money wise, don't come. This place a combination of vacation bible school from 5th grade, and a stereotypical high school from the movies. Judgmental people that care about how much you pray, and if you aren't the same religion as them, or on their sports team, you're a loser. Unless of course you're hot, then guys don't care. Now one to our second order of business, and that is the NARPS (Non Athletic Regular People). At times athletes to have some forms of special treatment such as choosing classes first, priority on living, etc. However, anyone that isn't an athlete thinks that they're dumb muscle heads that have nerds do their homework and take their final. Little do the NARP's know, nor could they handle the work that athletes go through day in and day out. the 6am lifts, mandatory study hall hours, condition, and regular practice. Oh, and you have to balance that out with classes too. Meanwhile, girls that don't play sports that only have school to worry about, talk about how tired they are from studying and how they can't wait to take a nap after their one class they had at 11am on Tuesday. If you were to come to GWU as an athlete, here is what you could expect each team to be like. If you are here as a tennis player, it's better to not know English if you want to get to know your teammates. If you are here for lacrosse, you are obviously a female, and you obviously don't care about winning either. In fairness, that covers most of the sports here. if you are here for wrestling, your personality could range from the Pope to a serial killer. and if you are a baseball or football player, at least you will have parties throughout the year to mask your mediocrity. |
