I chose Herkimer college based on an analysis of data and while I can agree with what most people say about it, it's far from the worst thing imaginable. The Faculty, Staff, and Teachers/Professors are all friendly and want you to succeed, though there may be that one professor that may skim you over but for newcomers, but you'll be fine.

Although Scholastic Success was given a C, that was not due to the homework. It's due to the fact that like many other schools, especially those laden with debt, Herkimer can't always afford to get the right things for the right students so it becomes a struggle for climbing up the educational ladder just to get what they want. The student body is a mixed bag depending on who you group up with. Although I wouldn't mention anyone, you'll have your occasional jerks and whatnot that don't give a dime about your life, but it's really a matter of avoidance and the campus can be isolated, especially on weekends.

College is all about networking, so it's crucial that you network with the right people in order to succeed. If you want to live on-campus, my advice is to stay away from the Campus Meadows. There's a reason why they're called the "Ghetto Meadows" due to all the partying and marijuana and such, but things tend to be toned down quickly. They also tend to have the most wild critters late at night (i.e. skunks, but they're afraid of light). While the Campus is technically safe, it's also given a C not due to how dangerous it is, but due to the stuff that goes on on campus meadows. Everywhere else is safe. The University resources are not well spent, especially since the Cafeteria is a private organization, so it's not part of the college and they tend to be fussy and snarky at times to those who don't follow the rules. But if you're nice to them, they'll be nice to you (eventually). Food is what you'd expect, though they could do a better job with portion sizes and menu rotations.

Campus Housing and Aesthetics are universally fine, though expect to have at least one appliance broken but then again, results may vary. Housing is also closed on holidays, obviously, but just a heads up regarding it when holidays like summer vacation, Thanksgiving, and Christmas are around the corner. College Hill seems to be doing a better job at that, especially since how everything is closely knit. The College is dedicated to help students succeed, but the student body says otherwise due to how everyone minds their own business. This can be a good and or bad thing for most. The pros are that people wouldn't care about what you're doing and wouldn't be in your face about it. The cons is that it can be difficult to make friends and connect, though that may be just me. Do not fret about the broken spirit, closeminded, arrogant, afraid, or violence tags, as not everyone is wholly violent, though quite a lot of people here come from the New York City (not Manhattan area literally, but close to it (i.e. Westchester, Chester Heights, Bronx, etc.)) and or Long Island area. It really boils down to who you talk to and who you deal with.

Social Life, Activities, and the town are all isolated. For the former two, some clubs seem to croak out and wane away, though there's always some certain clubs that stay up and running continually. The town, however, is suffering greatly from poverty. Although it's safe in and of itself, many residents here don't make enough to make ends meet and if you were to take a picture frame from 40 years ago, Herkimer would look no different as it did back then. People are used to saying sirs and ma'ams at the end of sentences, so expect it to be a bit old fashioned, but they're friendly nonetheless. They're just the type to uphold old values and such.

Overall, Herkimer's a pretty good college at its educational standpoint, but it needs serious improvement on other areas.
