Hillsdale is a conservative school that takes its values seriously. It desires to educate the students to be good citizens. I really appreciate Hillsdale because it is a place where I feel challenged academically, and socially. Although most of the campus is very conservative, there are still many opportunities for discussion and growth. The college has recently affiliated itself with Christianity, and many (if not most) of the professors are Christian and care about their faith. Almost every professor I have had has shown interest in my personal growth. The only real negative I see at the school is that there are quite a few people who don't do well in social situations. They have been sheltered or told very very extreme things and carry these to campus. That being said, I do not think they are the majority on campus, and there are plenty of normal people around. Lastly, the party scene isn't crazy, but if you know the right people you can find things to do on the weekends. If you are looking for a small oasis of conservative thought that believes in educating students in the True, the Good, and the Beautiful, Hillsdale is the place for you. |
