I have dyslexia so please excuse spelling mistakes/poor grammar.

I'm on the later end of my third year at Drexel of a planned 5. Every year I felt less and less that I belonged here as I have found it nearly impossible to connect with fellow students after attending many social events. The quarter system forces teachers to jam 12-13 weeks of course work into 9-10 weeks of classes. I was told once that a 45% on an exam was "pretty good" by a prof since the majority of students got a similar grade, this results from how fast the classes are passed. The solution to these low exam scores is often for the classes to be curved by nearly an entire letter grade so hundreds of students don't fail classes every term even with the student here being some of the hardest working I have met.

Personally, I'm just not a fit for Drexel. Some students can really paint a bright future for themselves here but many, many students drop out/transfer or are stressed to the point of self medicating and/or health problems. I have recently started having massive anxiety attacks to the point of passing out/being unable to move or talk as a result of the stress that has built up over the years while here at Drexel.

The co-op system is great for getting experience but is literally the only thing I see as a positive now. I'm going to be in my second co-op this summer and after am transferring to Temple as myself and my family don't want me to have to live feeling this way.

If you're able to work harder than the next person and have very strong work ethic and mental fortitude than you may be a good fit for Drexel, but it sure isn't for everyone and it shows in their retention rates. Please avoid putting yourself through this if you aren't use to a fast passed work environment or don't handle stress well.
