Hampshire is "graduate school for undergraduates" and the thing is: if you want to do well and excel and put a lot of motivation and effort into your education, then Hampshire is a great choice, otherwise not so much. I also will say that it's a phenomenal school for creative students (which I was) and I also had friends who were studying in the sciences (pre-med), and that's where the school is limited, BUT, she attended UMass a lot and still made it into Columbia Physicians College for her post-graduate work. Hampshire was great for me, but I know it's not a good fit for everyone. I really did love Hampshire in a lot of ways, but I know that the only thing it prepared me well for was graduate school, and that was about it. However, I have motivated myself in other areas of my life like employment and the desire and self-motivation to do well. Hampshire may have sharpened and honed those traits within me, but they were there to begin with. |
