The professors are excellent. Nearly all of them have terminal degrees, and it most cases it's obvious that they are passionate about what they teach. And they actually teach. They're not as pressured to be writing and publishing as academics at other schools. I felt like I got an excellent education. And it was a bargain, at that. Williamsburg is a pretty lame place to go to college. It's boring. There are only a handful of bars. And because most students are forced to live on campus, there are few options for socializing off-campus. The nearest thing resembling an actual city is an hour's drive. (And we're talking about Richmond or Norfolk, so you see why I sayresembling an actual city.) The students are exceptionally nerdy. And I don't mean smart, or brainy, I mean they study all the time and have a very limited idea of what constitutes a good time. Finally, the administration treated me exceptionally badly. I've recently learned they are prone to maltreatment of the faculty too. |
