Yeah, this school kinda sucks major fucking dick. Albright College is, for starters, located in Reading, PA. Reading, for those who don't know, is a complete fucking shit-hole of a city. Crime is abundant and the college, while probably being one of the safest locations in Reading, is still not really safe at all. My first year alone there was a repeated string of students being mugged or tricking into having personal items like phones stolen while on campus, and it's not like the surrounding area is any better. I remember one specific instance where there was a shooting like a block away from the college one day and I found out about it like 3 hours later because they sent out an email to students about it and I don't bother checking my email until I'm in my dorm room. If you like music both the band and jazz band suck absolute donkey piss. Can't speak for the choir or orchestra, I don't play in them, but the jazz band and the regular band are fucking tiny and sound like complete piss. My high school jazz band made our college jazz band sound like an elementary school group of kids. The college is also cancer about telling the students anything at all. I took an interim course over Christmas break my one year under the assumption that when my course started (about a month earlier than normal classes) I would just be able to return to my dorm room. Maybe this was a dumb assumption on my part not realizing there would be more housing steps than that but the problem was the school NEVER FUCKING TOLD ME I'D HAVE TO DO ANYTHING ELSE. They sent one, FUCKING ONE, email to me after break had already started saying that it was the final day to register for on campus housing for my interim course. Being as I was on break, I of course missed the email and missed registration. No other email regarding the interim course said anything about registering for housing, I checked all of them over again. You'd have to dig through their online site to find this information, but who's gonna bother to do that if they assume there isn't a reason to? They had plenty of emails sent out regarding specifically the interim courses and things about them, why not include this information? Probably because they know kids who don't know better will miss their shot at using housing and they'll save money as a result. Fuck you Albright, its not like you don't syphon enough money out of your students already. The school also has dog shit facilities. Some of the dorms are just absolute cancer, and that goes for classrooms too. There were so many horror stories my freshman year about how people's doors didn't lock because their lock was broke, how their air conditioner was broke, etc. There's probably other shit I'm forgetting but yeah this school just generally sucks ass. They'll try to rope you into coming here with huge scholarships but don't fall for it. They take them away after freshman year. One of my scholarships went from 28,000 dollars a semester to ~4000 dollars a semester after my freshman year. How the fuck does that even work? Still need a 3.5 average GPA to keep it though. 3.5 for 4000 dollars. Also its a nightmare to transfer, apparently trying to do so after finding out what a terrible place this is is like impossible. The school fights back about it, they charge money for transferring out, and tons of credits won't transfer with you. As a sophomore, transferring out right now for me would be like starting back over as a freshman because most of my credits wouldn't count for anything at other schools. Don't go here.
