A group of them wanted to beat me up on the ring ceremony (special and supposedly happy event before graduation). The teachers were bunch of psychos. It seemed they were bunch of rejects with PhDs. They had no research work (no funding, no interest and lazy), small class, absolute power and lots of psychopathic issues to play on us as guinea pigs. Most exams handed in white but some students got 95% and some failed. Go and figure how a white paper gets 95%. One teacher that got award for teaching knew how to teach but when taught well, never asked in exam. Those subjects that did not teach were 70% of the final exams. The other teacher had always started the term with part B of a problem and you would never knew what was the problem until the night before the final exam. A lot of students got very sick when graduated. the failure rate of first year was 58 students out of 60. But it seems university students have no rights as human. If you complain, guess what? You will be revenged and kiss your future goodbye. Most of those teachers are retired now. Thunder Bay is a beautiful city but LU is the lowest part of hell. At least it was for me. I never forgive and forget the sick teachers and the naughtiness of my classmates. I have lost my respect for PhD's and when I see one, I feel like I want to throw up. My academic years at LU was worse than the life of Steve McQueen in the Papillon movie. Don't go to Chemical Engineering at LU. |
