A ghost town that is highly segregated socially. OK school if you are privileged enough not to need much help from staff, financial aid office, or title 9. The campus refuses to ban a white-supremacists alt-right group even though it makes majority of the student body uncomfortable. There's been many fights on campus and the violence surrounding it in the poorer areas (places most students can actually afford vs the two bed rooms for 1100) is unreasonably dangerous. There is vehicular robbery and people stealing car parts! It's very easy to make aquaintances on campus and most people are polite/friendly but it is hard for many to make friends that are willing to hangout because majority of the school commutes or refuses to do anything. The food isn't bad and the dorms are average or above average. Mnay people complain about Stevenson Towers but it's truly not that bad. Yes, it's old-fashioned and can get a little noisy but those are some of the most spacious dorms on campus and the easiest place to hang out with people. Especially because of the suites with the living rooms. But yeah city people tend to keep to themselves, suburbans keep to themselves, Asians/internationals keep to themselves and rural/conservatives keep to themselves. If you're looking for diversity it's definitely here but don't expect these groups to intergrate/mingle most of them don't last long without some sort of clash of beliefs on class/politics/race. |
