During tours they really over sell themselves.Quite BrightBusiness - Management and Administration
During tours they really over sell themselves. They make it seem like this amazing place, when it really isnt all its been cracked up to be. The surrounding area is dangerous. I do not feel safe day or night unless i am in a secure building. Public safety is a joke. They claim that that are always around campus, but honestly ive only ever seen them inside the public safety office.

Professors in this program are typically very unhelpful.Quite BrightAccounting
Professors in this program are typically very unhelpful. Rather than teaching students and attempting to inspire, they settle to weed out students who are not performing to their liking. Professors also attempt to discourage firms from providing jobs to students who are not at the top of the class. Unless you have a connection through the school, or receive a 3.7 GPA or higher, you are at a disadvantage. The students of the college are typically arrogant, and unfriendly. For local Buffalo students I would highly recommend the University at Buffalo. It has an equally competitive program, without the unnecessary stress that Canisius College causes for students.

Hey I'm a current sophomore and currently studyingBrightAccounting
Hey I'm a current sophomore and currently studying for my accounting exam and for some reason wanted to look up Canisius and was very disappointed to see the reviews. I didn't see one positive review on here which kind of pissed me off because it is written by kids who had bad experiences. But for anyone looking at Canisius, take those comments with a grain of salt because it really all depends on what you make of it. I'm an accounting major and it is one of Canisius' best programs as I am pretty much guaranteed a job right out of school. They have plenty of great programs here as you would find out and honestly should have no problem getting hired out of school. Also a lot of people complain about the safety. I'm from a small town not near buffalo so I'm not use to the city at all and sure it may not be near the best neighborhood, Canisius can't help that but they honestly do a great job with public safety who are pretty much everywhere and are willing to help you. When it comes to safety just don't be stupid walking around by yourself drunk at 3 am... Pretty common sense. When people bring up the stuck up kids I honestly have no idea what they are talking about. Maybe I'm just lucky but I have a lot of friends who are great people with all different backgrounds. The only kids who can be douches are some of the athletes but overall they're not bad but they are going to be anywhere you go. Social life is generally pretty good. There are a lot of houses that surround the school and is always something going on Friday nights. Thursday and Saturday are usually bar nights but with a fake they let pretty much anyone in especially on Chippewa... So don't worry Freshmen. We actually just leased a house for next year and its going to be 8 of my close friends. School is what you make of it. Get involved. Work hard. And most importantly play hard. I hoped this helps some of the kids looking at Canisius because don't get me wrong it's got it's flaws but I have a great time here and am guaranteed a job... Which I'm pretty sure that is the most important thing about college but apparently the other reviewers just care about the so called snobby people they met. Alright good luck.
