Well before I start I just want toAverageNursing
Well before I start I just want to mention that I've lived in Miami my entire life. Now, FIU is a commuter school, so it will be active on campus during certain hours. Despite all the comments I've read, the campus isn't that big. If you walk all around campus it's mostly because you hose you're classes that way. The people that foot FIU talk mostly with the people they know. If you're shy and want to make friends you're going to have to ind a way to get over it, I know from experience. The faculty is like all the others it's got some that are good and some that are bad. Food-wise most of the junk food will be found in gc while the few healthy options we have are in pg5, which currently is a hassle to get to because of the construction detour. If you want parking get here at least an hour before your class starts. Traffic is horrible at certain times, and the cops make sure you go at the speed limit posted. Now even though its a commuter school, the people that live on campus seem to make friends with those around them. They're always planning events to enjoy the nightlife from what I've seen on our Facebook group. The surrounding city is pretty great compared to other cities only because we have a lot to offer. If you're a social person you'll grit in fine, if not you'll find some people that are more similar to you if you look hard. :) hope this helps.

To be honest, FIU is really not aQuite BrightPreMed and Medical
To be honest, FIU is really not a bad university! A lot of people underestimate the school because many commuters attend the school, as well as, international students. As a biology/pre-med major, I am quite contempt with my courses. I only had one bad experience as a freshman and that was my college algebra class. However, I do make sure to check out RateMyProfssor before I register for a class!!! Thankfully, the majority of my professors were AWESOME!It's not that bad, you just have to study hard and balance your social and academic life accordingly. It's not hard, I finished my freshman year with a 3.4. I am not completely happy with that because I did slack off, but college is not that bad!People have to understand that high school and college are two different ballparks!

You attend a MIAMI school and expect thereQuite BrightPreMed and Medical
You attend a MIAMI school and expect there to be no hispanics? REALLY? Maybe you're not too bright to begin with. I am Cuban and yes I speak spanish, but whether you go to UM or Barry... WE ALL SPEAK SPANISH. Stop being so prejudice and ignorant. I love FIU, great campus, great teachers, great atmosphere. The bigoted people who complained about the hispanic ambiance... we detect prejudice, that's why you made no friends. But by all means, Leave, transfer and let us enjoy quality education you were wasting. And remember, unless you speak Navajo or any other tribal dialect, you're not speaking the NATIVE AMERICAN LANGUAGE. Great school, don't regret going. :)
