Analytics of Finance as taught by Leonid Kogan is by far the worst course that I have ever taken in my entire academic experience, I learned nothing and the entire experience was a waste of time.  Leonid Kogan could not possibly be a worse lecturer if he tried, his idea of lecturing is to blab on and on about how smart he is and to present way too many equations out of random textbooks that mean nothing.  To make matters worse, he does not understand the material AT ALL and he does not even speak/write proper English.  His inability to communicate is crippling, he does not have any ability to teach a student anything and his choice of subject is offensively ignorant.  Even if he were able to communicate, the topics he chooses are so pathetically inapplicable to any form of reality that one could imagine, that no one would ever learn anything of any value.  He is an arrogant and useless loser, who has no interest in helping his students.  He uses the course as a mental masturbation platform, where he talks about a bunch of topics that he pretends to understand.  He tries to brainwash people into his clearly deluded way of thinking.  He thinks that he is sooooooo smart and cool, meantime he is a complete moron and his entire career is a joke.  He has never published any useful piece of research in his life.  He does not understand what he preaches.  If there were no consequences I would take him out back and shoot him.  If you are reading this Leonid, please kill yourself.
Should do to do well...
I would very highly recommmend not taking the course.  If you are forced to take the course, try and go to the administration to appeal.  If the appeal does not work then you unfortunately will have to take the class.
Should know...
Do well on the assignments and final test.
Student Competency: Expert-Level

Liked Instructor?: Strongly Disliked
Overall: A
The class was a lot of work, however the work was very rewarding and interesting.
Should do to do well...
Instructor is very thorough and his lectures are available in video online.  He publishes full and detailed notes.

Pay attention at lecture, review what you don't understand.

Should know...
It depends what “do well” means.  If all you want is an A—just do better than 60% of the class on homework and final.
Student Competency: Beginner

Liked Instructor?: Really Liked
Prof.  Kogan played a very big role in my carrer, I certainly hope the school values him as much as students do.

Muchas gracias!

Very boring professor.  He was not at all in touch with what students were thinking.
TERRIBLE PROFESSOR.  If you want to waste your time and money, all while learning nothing useful, take this class.  Leonid Kogan symbolizes everything that is wrong with the education system in the US.  An academic being unable to relate to real life and taking everyone's minds down with him.
