Too much work is an understatement.  He got me in trouble with another professor for making me take time out of her class to set up an art project outside in a heavy wind that just ruined the entire project.  He made me skip my other class to do this for nothing!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I didn't learn anything from him at all.  The book was useless as well because we just read it but never had time to ask questions about what we read and we never discussed it.  The test were the same ridiculous insulting questions, like “how many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop."

He hides in his office, he is very anti-social, which I have always thought would prevent someone from teaching, he lies, he tells you things then changes it later.  He expects you to skip three days of classes to go to Kansas City so he can brag about his days at college there.  He is a total waste as a teacher.  Just change you major, as an art major you just can't avoid him, but there are other ways by changing to interdisciplinary studies.

Should do to do well...
Drop the course and change your major.  This course is useless.  He just gives busy work and gives lots and lots of it.  He expects you to live in the studio.  If you have a job or children or any kind of life outside of school expect to give it all up for this course.  He doesn't grade you either until the very last week of classes.  And oh, the course evaluation sheets he has you fill out are mishandled by him.  He isn't suppose to have access to them after you fill them out but he always keeps them instead of having a student turn them into the department secretary.

Should know...
Suck up.  If you are female wear sexy clothing and act dumb.  He especially likes blondes.  Expect to want to drink heavily while taking this course.  Expect bad attitudes amongst fellow students to flare.  Expect chaios.  If he doesn't like you or if you give him any kind of trouble he will give you a bad grade.
