Overall: D+
It was a mildly boring class.  Having a friend in it to commiserate with after helped.  If you need to fulfill a gen-ed requirement, take the class.  But if you want to get something out of it, take another class.  She's a nice lady, and probably quite intelligent, but she's scatterbrained and really doesn't know how to teach a structured class.
Should do to do well...
This lady is pleasant.  She's not mean.  But boy, does she love to hear herself ramble!  She lets you text, surf the web, draw pictures, do whatever.  As long as a few people are “paying attention” and as long as she is occasionally prompted to ramble on more— maybe about something else.  So basically, show your face, try to get mildly decent marks on the exams, papers, and news reports, and you'll be fine.
Should know...
I knew nothing about sociology going in.  I know nothing about it now.  I probably would know a thing or two about it if the professor had talked less at random, and in a more structured way.  Just do the work competently, and you'll be fine.
