It's boring, simply because it's long and the amount of time you all sing together or make good music is brief.  It's not hard, except that it's 140 minutes of singing at evening, and he never gives a five minute break.  Hume is a nice guy, but he's extremely condescending, and yells and screams at whim at anyone...including the accompanist.  Why she hasn't slammed the top of the piano on his fingers yet is beyond me.  Sometimes I'd like to.
Should do to do well...
I honestly don't know how any male singer in the chorus gets out of experiencing the Wrath of Michael Hume.  Or Soprano.  If you're an Alto, you're very lucky.  Mostly.
Should know...
Just show up, sing (or pretend to sing), and be prepared for him to throw some sort of bizarre hissy fit out of nowhere and then pretend nothing happened.

This guy is an arrogant, condescending slimeball.  He's unprofessional, prone to favoritism, and seems to hate vulnerable people— especially males.  There's a reason why he's working at a university where people don't usually stand up to him and not in the real world.
