The night life, as others have said, is nothing exceptional, but there is now a super Target... Bottom line is, if one is planning on attending UND, just know that you will be battling some of the coldest winters and some of the most mosquito filled summers of your life. If you're weak and have to be constantly coddled as you progress through college, then probably consider somewhere warmer and more culturally diverse. In closing, I enjoyed my experience at UND. It turned out to be fine preparation for my career in science and later in law. It was also not the pre-med juggernaut it has become, although pre-meds were still a prominent feature of the student body. If I was applying today, I'd be a bit concerned about the school's commitment to undergraduate training in non-biology/chemical fields. For example, my impression is that the engineering school, outside of biomed and chemical, is not what it used to be. Ditto for physics. I don't know what's happening in the humanities now; when I was there, philosophy and history were decent departments.
