I would say that this school is ok if you dont plan on having your last degree from. so if you plan on getting a BA degree from UOP and a masters from somewhere else that would be the best plan. just understand that and know that you will be feed a line to get signed up for it. I now attend an accredited state college, as they offered my degree program online. I think UOPHX is the perfect university for people who would otherwise never earn a degree - there is a high amount of hand holding and support by staff, and classes are organized into learning teams so that you have continued support by people who are working alongside you. I have seen many people flourish in this environment. The downside is that many of the students need to be carried. Many students come from bad backgrounds and suffer from major ignorance. I also ran into odd problems with other students. One example is a student did not have internet access and transportation issues, yet was attending UOPHX! He'd go to the library once a week to log in - he was never truly able to pull his weight. This is frustrating for other members in a learning team. Another girl got a DUI and could never attend team meetings...nor did she ever try to make up for it via our assignments. I had one student in several of my classes who clearly lacked intelligence and common sense to the point to where I wondered if she should obtain vocational therapy before considering going for a college degree. Again, everyone had to carry her because she could not understand any of the work. Now that I am at a state college, I am not in learning teams and I have to figure everything out for myself. I have to say I am pleasantly HAPPY! I have to say I spend at least 10 hrs less a week on school work because I don't have to collaborate with people who do not know how to work with others and pull their own weight. In addition, within my workplace there a couple other UOP undergrads along with a UOP grad and we all clear over a 100k a year so I am not disappointed in that aspect. I am not trying to brag but I hear and read a lot of bad post about UOP. I think UOP is an excellent school especially for those who cannot physically attend a school but are able to do it by going online. Also, I attended a local state university for 3 years with a 3.0 GPA before joining the military a great school and also in the Forbes's Top Ranking Univ. but I had a hard time trying to understand the professor?s because it seemed like they were all from India and their english and grammar skills was horrible. With that being said, UOP is like any other school out there; if you apply yourself you will get results. You cannot expect the school to do it for you. I know of individuals who attended Forbes?s Top University ranking schools (2012) and are doing mediocre so I do not see how anyone can blame the school as long as it is accredited and that is what counts. Lastly, I like UOP so much that I will be starting my MBA face to face program in Sept 2012. Once that is completed I will write another positive post about UOP. I would like to say thanks to UOP. However, there is NO emphasis on research methodology, though three different statistics courses are offered (two are electives).

Also, your "Academic Advisor" is NOT ALLOWED to write you a letter of recommendation for graduate school. Some of the staff will, but it holds little weight considering each class is only five weeks long and you never meet instructors face-to-face.
