Oregon Tech Portland moved to Wilsonville to rent a huge building that sits mostly empty, while the building they OWN, in Portland/Clackamas, sits mostly empty. Students now have to drive an average of 170 miles per week.

2. The City of Wilsonville has NO public transportation to and from OIT Wilsonville while classes are going on. There is simply no way to get to and from campus.

3. Oregon Tech Wilsonville has no campus security, and even locks students out of campus during class times late at night. Try to look for "campus safety" at oit.edu/wilsonville. You won't find it. BECAUSE THEY HAVE NO CAMPUS SAFETY DEPARTMENT AT ALL.

3. For nearly a year, Oregon Tech students have been catching rides with strangers, hitch hiking, and at times, sleeping on the streets of Wilsonville at night, as there is no way home. This is the official policy: "bum a ride." No shuttle. No bus. and zero craps given about the students.

This is publicly available on the OIT student message boards, and functions as official policy for getting to campus.

OIT Wilsonville is therefore a hostile environment for women, people with disabilities, and anyone who doesn?t have a vehicle that never, ever breaks down (i.e. the ?47%?).

I am a hands on learner and this college was a good place to be especially for me. The town isn't as big as many of the other college towns and I focused on my schoolwork. For example, I was part of the MarsReach Club which was funded by NASA to send student experiments on high altitude balloons.
