Depending on the program you are looking to get into, it could be fair... or it could be very poor.

I found the majority of the college to be rather unhelpful and non-caring about the students (aside from the occasional professor). Everything is scored on a curve to push students through the program and make the school/teacher look good. There were only a handful of professors that I had that not only knew what they were talking about, but also had the ability to convey it and explain it to the class. Due to the lack of education I received, I was practically forced to continue on in my education just to get a job (I would have liked to take some time off and gain some experience before continuing on).

If you want to have fun, Bloom is a great college. If your looking for an education... look else where. I'll never go back to that school to take any classes and will certainly not be donating any money.

I highly recommend spending the night on a visit before making the decision to come here. I am from a city in Nj and I guess the change was too dramatic for me. There is nothing wrong with this university when it comes to the faculty, athletics, courses, the people, and administration. BUT!! you must be aware you are putting yourself out in the middle of NO WHERE....There is nothing to do....Yea there are alot of parties, drinking, etc. That is all fun...you will mostly spend ur time at night walking fromm frat house to frat house looking for a fun experience that does'nt exist. This college is a TYPICAL college....that is fine... some people want that...but you can get all that bloomsburg has to offer at almost any liberal arts institution. What I'm trying to say is there is nothing special about this college. The surrounding area really does not provide much opportunity. In a place like this it is very imporatant to make friends because that is all you will have out here because believe me there is nothing else....theres a walwart not to far...umm and a few restaurants...thats about it. If you are a pennsylvania who is used to this life style...then this college with probably be a positive experience for you because it has a good reputation, its affordable, and is made up of mostly good people. BUT...if you are from a city, not close to home, not a social butterfly, not going in knowing anybody, and not sure if its for you. Don't close your eyes and jump...listen to your gut and don't go here...you will hate it here. If you are not 200% sure you love the boondox....agian..do not go here... What will really help you advance your career is your attitude, your work ethic, and your performance. These are things you learn in college, along with other important life skills such as time management, prioritization, and how to "play nice with others". So, doing your work (not waiting until the last minute and cramming for tests), taking your time to do good work, showing some effort, and being respectful of others will really pay off in the end.

I've been out of college for 20 years, and can honestly say that I don't know where most of the people I work with received their education, but I do know a "good" employee based on their attitude, their skills, and their performance. It's up to you what you do with your degree.

I have wonderful memories of Bloomsburg, and didn't realize how many "real world" experiences I learned there, both inside and outside of the classroom. I'm also learning that it doesn't matter so much what you major in (with some exceptions, such as nursing, etc.) but that you know how to think on your feet and have that drive to succeed.

I'm now visiting colleges with my daughter and am reminded of some of the great times I had at Bloom. I wouldn't do a think differently.
