I have been here for a year and a half and I honestly don't think I've learned anything that I didn't already know in high school. The required meal plans are outrageously overpriced ($12/meal when most people can't eat more than $5 worth of food). I would recommend this school to COMMUTERS ONLY. Do not live here. Even though people say theres not a lot to do here they're definitely wrong. While it's true that a lot of the parties get broken up, it's not any different from any other campus that I've seen. And Like any school the food is "college grade." That being said, the professors are really brilliant. The class sizes are small and professors are easily approachable. The buildings on campus are all pretty new and everything stays maintained. Never have I felt unsafe on campus, however I wouldn't wander far off campus at night, just like at any other school. It's not bad if you want to be a nurse, teacher, or middle management, but I was quite possibly the person least prepared in my graduate program. There was a small hardworking faculty in my department, but the standards didn't prepare me at all for what came later. The school bragged that it operated in the black, but neglected to mention that they did this via exploitation of adjuncts (far too many classes were taught by adjuncts for a school this size- and the English adjuncts were incompetent) and did not give those adjuncts the opportunity to buy into health care at all. The faculty are very knowledgeable and experienced in their fields. That said, it is a liberal arts college, so you will be required to take some courses you may not be particularly keen on. The dining & housing requirements for on campus residents is extortion - $2,000 for a semesters meals - and they're really awful. If you're near by and you want to commute then it's a great and affordable option. It's really not the greatest campus to live on though.
