There is a lack of Christian values at TCU from the students to the faculty. The students consume an insane amount of alcohol and drugs are everywhere. The advisors do not help and are difficult to meet with. The classes are taught by student teachers or TA's. These "teachers" are more concerned with indoctrination of CRT, diversity and their personal opinions than actual subject matter. The on-campus food has caused food poisoning from raw, undercooked food and meat. Ft. Worth truly supports TCU and the students. The campus is beautiful and the dorms, if you get your own private room, are nice. There is a lot of school spirit at the athletic events and other events around campus. I recommend you come here only if you are going to go greek, or have a decent scholarship. There are a lot of great things like nice dorms, a beautiful campus and efficient staff.Your degree is what you make of it, so go to class, ask seniors for advice as your advisor will probably be useless. Though some things could be improved, such as the food and less than helpful advisors, overall it is an amazing school with endless social and academic opportunities. The faculty truly cares about each student individually. There are many programs to ensure students are their best selves, from mental health to planning for future success. The campus is beautiful and the surrounding area (FTW and Dallas) always has fun things happening. Sports and the school atmosphere are also very positive. But the one thing I learned was unless your taking the university's more publicised majors like business and nursing. Professors are generally nice, but once you need help in your own personal projects or need advice on a future job/career, most of them suddenly don't have time for you. They definitely are more interested in their own pursuits and even announce in class when their personal feats are getting compensated. Another problem for me was the career services center never really helped me find a internship or a job while I was in school. They gave advice like look up these websites and gave me mock interviews. But mostly no one prepared me for the real world and how competitive the market is. Mostly if your an outsider to the community of upper-class wealthy kids, then you might feel a bit inferior. I remember once in class my professor told us to get a textbook in the newest edition available and by the time everyone would order the book it would arrive to late for the first test. So he assumed all of us had I-Pad's to read it and when I raised my hand and admitted that I didn't own an expensive I-Pad, he was generally surprised. Socially it isn't much different, unless you automatically sign up for a fraternity or sorority. Most kids in class all just get their work done and go home, so if you want to attend TCU you might have to look outside of the campus for friends and things to do with others.
