Classes were extremely unorganized and professors did not have any real world experience or expertise. There were days when teachers lectured for hours about unrelated jury duty experiences and days when we were assigned identical projects back to back. Horribly run program and faculty seems uninterested in making improvements. You will be in a situation where someone will ask why su and there just seems to be no legitimate answer. Many point to small classes but let's be real, would you pay 50k for small classes and besides there are other schools with small classes for less. It's because in the back of everyone's mind they ask why not a better school like university of Washington since it's cheaper and better and in Seattle. Small classes isn't worth 20k more and no prestige because no one will know the school. However the food is great with the sushi bar, Seattle itself, campus facilities are nice, and I had a few great professors. But for the most part in my department at least, professors didn't care, no opportunities and they wouldn't give the time of day for you (not all though) because there are some great professors there. But it's just an ok school for specific kind of people, few hot girls mostly nerdy type, Seattle is nice though I like the nature and all the outdoor activities it offers. However if you are looking for a traditional college experience you will not find it there because no fraternities or sororities and no good parties around, you'd usually head over to university of Washington for that. Oh yeah not seeing the sun for 6 months is brutal, but if you like the su vibe then by all means it's not a bad school, I'd just spend the best four years of my life and money elsewhere (I myself have already left for quite some time). Good professors have come to be a diamond in the rough, rather than permeating the program. I would advise to go to a community college before this school. This is a great place to learn to be unprofessional as teachers often change test & assignment dates, show up to class late and do not take criticism constructively. But the classes are insanely easy, so you'll be able to maintain a 3.5 without doing any strenuous work.

I simply came into the program with too high of expectations. If you want an easy program, but are willing to be disrespected for 7 quarters and pay a lot of money, this is a good route. If not, don't waste your money. I am full of regret.

Tue, 15 May 2012 07:30:21 GMT StudentsReview 1460-87354 1460-87354 1460 7 Business - Management and Administration Male Undergraduate Class 2015 1st Year Positive Seattle U is a great school with great people. The Jesuit brotherhood is by far the most open minded and liberal order of priests and it really shows. There is an emphasis on inclusiveness and community. The school does great work with the community and there are endless opportunities for service. Seattle is also an awesome city, its not giant like LA but is a Metropolitan city. Coming from California, I can say that the people of the northwest are much more laid back and "go with the flow" type people. The school has just entered WAC division 1 athletics and is on the rise. One of my big worries about coming to the school was a lack of athletics, but the student association has made some great strides to make spirit a big deal on campus. THE CAMPUS is awesome and is becoming even better. The old rundown gym has finally been replaced and the school will also be building a new basketball stadium to meet WAC standards, as the current one does not. Because it is rainy most of the year the school also provides a variety of ways of wet weather friendly activity. They have an indoor turf field, which can be used to play soccer and tennis. They also have indoor basketball courts and as of fall quarter 2012 they will also have an artificial turf soccer and baseball field along with a track. The housing is also good. They are slowly making improvements to the residence halls, and remodeling them, and in 2011 new student apartments opened. The library and student center are also new highlights all built within the last five years. The library gives a lot of help options to from the pretty helpful librarians, to the learning center, free tutoring, and facilitated study groups. The dining is pretty good. They do a good job of mixing things up, so you don't get to bored. I've been to many schools that just have a cafeteria assembly line style, but not here. Most of the food is cooked right in front of you fresh, and the different stations of the main cafeteria never have the same menu. In fact most of the options you are supposed to design your own meal. There 2 main dining facilities, with different styles, along with 4 other cafe type establishments spotted around campus, one of which is in an on campus little mini mart. This little store is packed with everything from ice cream, frozen foods, cereal, toothpaste, and over the past year have adopted alot of gluten free options along with local options. The food service is also great about having vegetarian options, and in the northwest there are plenty of vegetarians. The people that go to this school are all pretty open minded, and the school is very LGBTQ friendly. I highly recommend this school. Seattle U isn't the biggest name right now, but it will be in the future. They are doing big things at this school, and are quickly making a name for themselves. Transfer students are thrown into this tight knit environment and it's extremely hard to even talk to someone you don't know. Don't even bother to ask someone to study together.

Professor's and faculty are so unhelpful. There are absolutely no tutors for engineering students. I asked professors and faculty about getting help and no one bothered to even care.
