The level of unorganization around here is thru the roof. You have to figure out everything on your own b/c the academic advisors are useless if u even have one at all. All people do is hang out outside the dorms all day/night. This is a place to just hang out not a place of higher learning. I will definetly be leaving in the fall. I would not reccomend this university to anyone. I couldntve been more wrong and now I doubt if that place even exists. First of all AAMU holds probably the worst part of black America there is. The guys are either homely potheads that stand outside of dorms as if its their birmingham/mobile project, or theyre gay (not saying theres anything wrong with that :)). The girls are completely concerned only with "downsouth" fashion (quoted only because it is obviously completely different from "fashion"), hair, nails, and NOT class (neither sense of the word). The students are also products of a close-minded society harbored by a ridiculous close minded school. My BIOLOGY teacher even said that creationalism was in the biology book so it must have some truth to it. I don't know what BIO book she was reading but it damn sure wasn't the one I had my sophmore year of HS. Then a girl in the same class had the nerve to say "endangered animals should go extinct because thats what God intended." I could've smacked the sh *t out of her. Meanwhile the staff is slow rude and takes 2-3days for them to even cough. I have TWO financial aid checks I got 2 months ago and still havent recieved them. The students dont come to class and the professors dont either. And then dont EVEN expect to graduate in 4 years because that would be a PRIVILEDGE!
