The Survey and Geomatics program could be so much better then it is. There is a lot of missed opportunities to learn in this program due to Professors being there to long and not teaching, to some that do not know how to operate equipment or software that is needed to complete assignments. Teaching is about non existent in this program. Classes do not go the entire scheduled time, maybe half to a quarter of that time scheduled you are in class. Assignments are poorly explained. Questions in class are frowned upon by one Professor in class and he will gladly tell you so. I very strongly encourage future students who want to go into Survey and Geomatics Engineering not to attend Idaho State University, instead attend a different college that offers this program. You will be wasting your time and a lot of money if you attend ISU. I completed a large assignment and she gave me a 0/20. I have never been more frustrated in my life! I am done with this horrible place. Oh, and I withdrew from my classes this summer because I was in the hospital for a week. I withdrew from them and was granted a late withdrawl, but they are still trying to make me pay for them! It is a ridiculous place. I will NEVER take any classes from them ever again!!! The academic portion was just fine. It was the atmosphere of the students, faculty and the locals that made the place unbearable. They are very disorganized and have a lot of trouble with communication between departments. Different advisors tell you different things which makes it difficult to know what classes to take. My husband recently was cleared for graduation in May of this year and 2 weeks before graduation they called back and told him he was missing a class. It has been 2 months since he would have graduated and he has finished the class but is still waiting to start his new job because of miscommunication between staff. Absolutely ridiculous....
