I tried my best to get involved at Harding, and almost every time i found the students I worked with to be hateful and fake.

The student body and staff have a falseness about them.They act nice at first to suck you in, then they drop you. I have found Harding to be one of the most miserable lonely places in my life.

On the bright side they are very conservative! They only allow those type of view point there. for example there is a student paper that has to be written by unknown authors because it has liberal view points. Another example, there was this group that tried to bring Fair Trade Coffee on campus. (if you don't know what this is google it, basically it insures that the makers of the coffee are treated fairly) And this made some people here so mad. This is the only place where people have told me that forced child labor is a good thing.

This campus is lame,do not go, look very hard for another place to attend, you will not regret it. Some of the teachers out side of my department tend to give more busy work, not be as helpful, or friendly, but overall i have do not really have a problem with them.

The dorms are not so good. i live in a very nasty place Allen Hall. These dorms are very nasty, including mold, ants and all kinds of other bugs. the big clubs basically do their best to wreck the place, including poop bombs, fire works, and just basically trash the halls. I think they do this because the University does so little for the dorm. The bathrooms are rarely cleaned. and maintenance many times doesn't do it's job. Some kids in my hall had a broken sink and didn't get it fixed for months. I think it is still broken. On the Girl side it is not much better, in one of the freshman dorms there is such a mold problem that girls were getting fixed. They have done nothing to fix this, because they do not have the money, but the president has enough money to build himself a very nice new office.

Socially it is a terrible place to be. If you are not in one of the big clubs, then about eighty percent of the students will not talk to you. in general I really am not sure how to make friends here, or even if it is possible. The student body isn't really that nice to anyone. The are very ready to judge you, on my first day I went into the student center and I just saw tons of students all looking at me, looking like they didn't even want me here. I have not felt any different sense. I have been involved in many events. Each time the students in these events wanted nothing to with me more than have had to. most people in the big clubs seem to not want to mingle with anyone who would be less popular.
In short I hate the student body at this university. But i love the Social Work program! They have given me many tools I need to succeed in my career. How ever the students here are well, even though it is a "Christian" school, don't expect any love here!!! Some of the best experiences of my life were at Harding but some of the greatest failures I have experienced were during this period. Harding is going to give you the same opportunities you will find anywhere in life and then some. YOU decide what to make of any situation and YOU alone will determine the success of the experiences you face if you attend Harding.
Although there will be some to disagree, academically the credentials of the University are well documented and the degree I received was exactly what I needed to reach my career goals. The professors in the School of Business are more than willing to work with students and almost all have more to offer than just academic theory. From my experiences they were successful in their own rights outside the walls of academic pontification and this should be of interest to those looking for a mentor and someone who will share practical skills to succeed in business.
If you want to skip class and spend time complaining about the restrictive rules then you can do this at Harding. If you want to ignore the opportunities and the free time you have to grow spiritually then you can do this at Harding. If you want to find some drinking buddies and party on Beale Street in Memphis after eating ribs at Rendezvous then you can do this at Harding. If you want to go to Smitty’s and pickle your brain on a Friday night then you can do this at Harding. If you want to waste an opportunity to listen and learn at the feet of great Bible teachers you can do this at Harding. If you want to resent the fact that you are “forced” to hear God’s word then use that fact to justify immoral behavior then you can do this at Harding. If you want to sleep through every chapel service and not sing to or praise God then you can do this at Harding. If you want to set a tone for a young adult life that will damage your relationship with God then guess what....you can do all this while attending Harding University.
Conversely, if you want to learn at the feet of great Bible scholars and serve God through mission work you can do this at Harding. If you want to enrich your soul and spend hours studying the Word of God on your own or with the help of others you can do this at Harding. If you want to forge friendships that will last a lifetime then you can do this at Harding. If you want to surround yourself with people that love God and want to serve Him then you can do this at Harding. If you want to volunteer your summers and help out with younger kids that look up to you at Camp Tahkodah then you can do this at Harding. If you want to go fishing at Ramsey’s on the Little Red and enjoy the clean air then thank God for the time and opportunity to enjoy it, you can do this at Harding. If you want to go repelling off the cliffs at Riverside Park and see God’s handiwork then you can do this at Harding. If you want to go out to Sugarloaf and watch the sunrise or sunset and thank God that He has blessed you with the opportunity to view His creation then you can do this at Harding. If you want to begin and/or improve your relationship with Jesus in a way that will bless you the rest of your life and throughout eternity then you can do this at Harding.
