no life! you feel like you are in the middle of no where!
there are no 24 hours lounge where you can spend if you are all niters!
not mentioning you feel like you are filled with rich idiots kids!
if you stay at dorms, without car, then you are doom! nothing you can do but to party or stay at your room!
and yes, separation between commuters and on campus is obvious!
the only good thing is friendly staff and helpful teaching staff

This leads to a student body that is filled with either pretentious long island snobs who are forced to go to college by their parents, or inner city under achievers. I commuted to post for all of the years I attended and let me tell you there is a dividing wall between commuters who go to class and go home and the cliquish dormers. I had a network of friends outside of C.W. Post so I spent a large part of my social life outside the campus. I am a long islander and noticed that a lot of out of state kids from the tri-state have their own cliques. My only friend from C.W. Post was a film student from Vermont. I remember telling me I am not like the other stuck up long islanders at the school.

Let me tell you about acts of bullying that have been done to me while at C.W. Post:

I took a statistics class for business in my sophomore year and the asian professor would idiotically split the class into two rooms for tests. The professor would go back and forth to each room. One particular jock-type student came next to my seat and asked for some of the answers while the professor was in the other room. I actually wanted to learn something in this class and this particular student didn't take a liking to that nor the class.

I took an advertising class for my marketing requirements. The first day the teacher laid out the syllabus and the class looked to be sort of fun. We had to help a local Long Island bank in its marketing efforts as a project for the class. This soon took over the entire class and the project required us to do nothing. The professor pick this one frat daddy type student to lead the project and one day I almost got into altercation with this student because I spoke my mind and actually said the class was BS.

Me and my friend from Vermont would go to Aqua Lounge a hole in the wall bar known for underage drinking in nearby Glen Cove. One particular night we where there when the Post lacrosse team was there. I was with my friend from Vermont and his friends who were cinema majors and didn't have the white baseball cap meathead look to them. One of the jocks called my friend a F!ggot. They college is like high school with ash trays and this instance it was.

Like I said the school is very cliquish and every one knows each other if they dorm. I found that the down to earth people were the people from out of state. I felt sorry for these students on the weekend the campus is a ghost town and some live to far to warrant going home for the weekend.

For the most part I was antisocial to a lot of the dormers and can you blame me? I was in school when Virginia Tech happened and one of the student who was friends the test bully gave a dirty glare as if to imply I would do something like that. A lot of people on this campus have big egos.

As far as the education goes the accounting school is good and the job placement office was better and had a lot of internships prior to the financial collapse. The

It's a fairly good school as far as education is concerned, not that much homework, which hey I ain't complaining. It eases you into the college structure with the workload which wasn't very much if you scheduled yourself out. Every school is pretty much the same with regards to the professors, they can go either way. I had some really good ones and others I could care less.

The setting is pretty nice, it feels very park-like. Buildings are spaced out so its nice and relaxing walking to class. They do take care of the campus very well, which in my opinion where most of the tuition money goes to. They have nearly every type of amenity needed for a student; tutoring center, writing center, etc.

Here's where it gets negative. The school's tuition is not worth the 30K a year, and thats without dorming. I live only 20 minutes from the campus so I didn't even bother with that extra expense. Why sleep in a bed if it will cost you ten grand and you only live 20 minutes away? Although you do have the out of staters which I can understand, but those who live on the island...not necessary. If you're a rich snob from long island who gets things handed to them on a wim and could give a **** less about the cost, then hey this university is perfect for you. The only reason why I came to the school was for a dang good scholarship.

If you're a commuter like me, be prepared to be out of the loop for most of the campus news. Barely anyone talks to each other unless they're in one of their little cliques that they formed in the dorms or someplace else. It was different for me because I had a part time job six days a week and went to class full time. Many of the students had no conception of what work felt like, and not that little part time gig on the weekends. It felt like High school all over again, not many of the students were academically focused unless they were on scholarship, others like a said could give less...Then again the university does have the reputation for passing everyone justfor showing up for class. I felt as if everyone from the island who went there thought they came from either two places; the north shore or the jersey shore. The girls at the college, I compare them to cars at a car show, look but don't touch. Very rarely did I find someone who was actually down to earth up there. They thought who they were and that ain't me.

Bottom line, you want a degree thats easy to get and costs 30K and change then go to Post! But if you're like me, an actual worker that wants an affordable education, look someplace else.

Its a commuter school so theres no one on campus Friday-Sunday and breaks. All facilities INCLUDING FOOD are closed most of the time.. The education is bad, student average is a C-, but it could benefit you. I'm a straight A student because its so easy making it easy for me to transfer out! The gym is nice. All the dorms are gross and so are the buildings. Lots of trees. Easy to get/do drugs on campus. Greek life is more of a club due to no greek housing on campus. Closes store is an hour walk away. Shuttle runs from 11am-9pm so bring a car. They cut my major half way through the semester. To go from point A to B is a long walk.
When you attend Orientation they take you to go to Hillwood (which only opens Mon.- Thurs.) They have Starbucks, Subway, and another little place that is not so bad. So, in orientation they take you to Hillwood to eat and you think 'Oh, the food is good!' but if you decide to dorm you MUST get a meal plan and you have to eat at Winnick. 98% of the time when you go to Winnick (the cafeteria) to eat they are serving omlet. It's good in the beginning but then you realize they serve it EVERYDAY and it is ridiculous! The lines are always long unless its late in the weekends. So, even if you wake up early you will never have time to go and eat breakfast before class. It's packed in there! And what are they serving? Their so-called fresh omlet.
Bottom line the food is horrible, you just eat because you have no choice if you live in the dorms.
Speaking of dorms they are horrible. The furnitures are old, some of my drawers won't even open.
They have the worst dorm options I've ever seen, the suites and all the other ones suck. There's no fridge in any of them, if you are a junior or senior at my old school you get to live in the apartments with a big fridge and an oven and a little kitchen area and here THERE IS NOTHING.
If you are a transfer student like me, chances are your school is way better than this. You just don't know it yet till you transfer here.
