Some teachers care about their students while a few are on a power trip. The problem with the college is that one its a party school. You go to Siena to party not to learn. If you want to learn go somewhere else. The second problem is their focus on group projects. They want everything to be a group project to the point where all you do is meet with groups to do work. This ends up taking up all your time and you can't enjoy life. Also when interviewing after leaving school both employers I interviewed with looked down on Siena and their business program because of their group mentality. They question whether or not you did your work or if the group carried you. I got both jobs but was based off of past experience. I would say Siena more or less hurt my chances Mon, 20 Oct 2014 03:33:34 GMT http://www.studentsreview.com/NY/SIC_comments.html StudentsReview: Neutral Review about SIC for Biologyhttp://www.studentsreview.com/NY/SIC_comments.html Literally the worst college ever. The teachers are dumb, my high school teachers were smarter. The administration doesnt care about anyone or anything but their statues quotes. The school hides things from the public and gets away with violent crimes committed on the campus. The teachers are arrogant, not understanding and awful. There are under 4,000 undergrads here. But there is never a dull moment. The faculty here, especially in the school of science, are fantastic. They all do research outside of teaching, so they put a spin on their classes which is geared toward their area of expertise. Every teacher I have had here has been extremely flexible with their office hours, and provides materials and or review sessions to ensure you do the best you possibly can on their exams. That being said, they expect a lot out of you. The science classes tend to have strenuous exams and extensive lab work. There are always research opportunities for students in various areas.
As far as social life, there is a whole section of campus, separated from the academic buildings and dorms, where all the upper classmen townhouses are. That is where all the partying happens. There are events that go on every Thursday by the student event board, dances, and movies playing in the lecture halls every weekend. There is virtually nothing to do off of campus without going 20 minutes south into Albany, unless you want to go shopping.

There's a lot of good at Siena as well as a lot of bad. For starters public safety does a fantastic job at keeping the campus safe during the day as well as at night, and will do basically anything to make sure Siena students are safe. However, this can sometimes get annoying when kids on the weekend want to go out and have a good time, although they're just doing their job (and ultimately following the law). Faculty and staff are very friendly and approachable, and they will do whatever they can to assist you in anyway. Students are also very nice, however, they can be extremely cliquey which is really annoying. On the negative side of things, the food sucks. While most people in college gain the freshman 15, I think I've lost it. So if you're looking for a school with good food, you may want to reconsider. They do have the wrap shop here which is good, but they're expensive and its not apart of your meal plan, you use your "dining dollars" to buy food there. The bathrooms, at least in my hallway, are absolutely disgusting. I can't even say how many times I've gone into the bathroom and there were hairballs all over the shower stalls and the toilets are clogged and you know what is all over the toilet seats. But then again it depends on who is in your hallway and how clean they are. If you're planning on coming here to party, it's not your scene. It's a decent school nonetheless but as for fun wise- there's not a lot of it unless you're an upper-classman living in a town house. But there is a town down the road and a shuttle you can catch to go to the mall and walmart. I must say this is my experience- my roommate loves it here. The kids are very cliquey, the work is too easy and athletes are given special treatment by the faculty.Besides that, facilities are poor and food is absolutely disgusting. It is virtually impossible to eat a balanced proper diet when eating cafeteria food. I would highly recommend avoiding Siena at all costs.
