Student Clubs and Organizations
Albion College Mathematical Society club  The Albion College Mathematical Society was created in the fall 2003 in response to the growing interest in mathematical sciences on campus. In anticipation of the growing size of each incoming freshman class and the science center renovation project, Albion College students of mathematics are taking steps to strengthen the student mathematical community on campus through this organization. That is, the organization is here to highlight the student mathematical community and its activities. We hope that in the near future, this vision will provide the Albion College community with programs, events, and benefits which support those who are interested in mathematics. We also hope that in years to come, the visibility of our group will attract students interested in mathematics to campus (regardless of whether they plan to major in the subject).
We've introduced a new problem solving seminar where students get together weekly to practice competition-level and otherwise non-standard problem solving skills. We've also held several study breaks where students get together to relax and chat. Another key feature of our group is the grame night; students get together to play various games with mathematical themes, such as go, hex, and chess. All of these events are designed to help unify the community of people interested in mathematics on campus at Albion College, and to help one another enjoy the qualitative appreciation of mathematics. All these benefits and more are open to the Albion College community, and I invite you to get involved! Please see our website at www.albion.edu/mathematicalsociety for more information.

Secular Humanist Group group  The Secular Humanist Group (SHG) offers support and ideas for those who wish to explore rational thinking, science, skepticism, and secular humanism. It promotes free thought, encourages the individual's right to choose one's beliefs, and respects individual freedom. SHG helps students develop ideas and skills as a group for their future as free-thinking individuals in a religious society. SHG also organizes at least one major campus-wide event per semester and at least one informational meeting per year.  [Edit]
