Student Description One of MSOE's greatest achievements is its alumni. An alumni center in a historic building reinforces the message that MSOE alumni are held in the highest regard. This Milwaukee landmark is a focal point for a wide variety of alumni-related activities and the place where visiting alumni gather to participate in the camaraderie always present at MSOE.
The alumni office is located in this beautiful building. Whenever alumni are visiting Milwaukee, they are encouraged to stop by the alumni office for a tour of this spectacular alumni center along with a tour of the rest of the MSOE campus.
The majestic facility actively serves the entire MSOE community and helps strengthen ties with students who will one day become active alumni.
History Laden Past
In 1989, a historic building was added to the MSOE campus, the Alumni Partnership Center - a home away from home for over 18,500 alumni. Built in 1890 by Emil and Valentin Blatz as the facility for the Blatz Brewing Co. business offices and later refurbished as the Beer Baron Restaurant, this architectural masterpiece is recognized as a historical treasure by the National Register of Historic Places. Great care has been taken to preserve the unique features of this building which include: hand carved fireplace mantels, hardwood floors, oak beams, and stained glass windows featuring brewery scenes.
