| FIVE-WEEK PROGRAM: Rising high-school juniors and seniors have the chance to
experience college—academically and socially—through Dickinson College’s Pre-College Summer Programs. Students
may earn college credit in a variety of courses and
learn to balance hard work and play on a college
campus. Classes are taught by Dickinson faculty and adjuncts. Students
may choose from tracks in pre-law, pre-business, art, social science,
communications or Spanish immersion, for which much of the time
is spent at the University of Querétaro, Mexico. They also
may select two courses from among workshops and courses that
range from astronomy to theatre, computer science to political science.
Students may enroll in an SAT Prep course, ESL course
or improv program. THREE-WEEK PROGRAM: Our Research and Writing
Program is ideal for students working on senior projects, home-school
projects, teacher-guided research, IB extended essays and independent-study projects. Goals
include enhancing writing, argumentation and research skills that will be
invaluable in the future. ONE-WEEK PROGRAMS: Our Young Writers Workshop for
students interested in poetry or fiction will help enrollees improve
their writing skills. Students will study with accomplished writers and
will develop their own stories or poems in a workshop
setting. The Leadership Forum: Two specialized tracks will be offered
in breakout sessions—The Citizens Leader Program and The Athletics Leadership
Program. These programs will teach you to become an effective
leader in your school, community or the playing field. Workshops
will engage you academically, personally, physically and socially. Program Cost: $900-6,000
