The
Young Writers Workshop is a weeklong program including seminars and
panels by Converse College faculty and alumni writers. It is
geared to a range of interests, designed for writers of
all levels of development, and open to motivated rising high
school sophomores, juniors and seniors. Students will: receive personal instruction
and critique from professional writers in several genres of writing
(poetry, fiction, and nonfiction memoir); learn techniques that help writers
recognize strengths, potential and avenues for successful writing, editing and
publishing; discover new ways to write about and empower their
own lives; and participate in a public reading of their
work. Admission is selective, and participants will board on the
Converse College campus. For more information and to apply, please
visit our website at www.converse.edu or contact Sam Howie at
sam.howie@converse.edu Program Cost: $700
