Capital Summer Session
Get a jump start on your college degree at Columbia Union College, just minutes away from our nation’s capital!  Earn three free college credits, stay in one of our dorm rooms and gain valuable college experience.  Also enjoy numerous activities and sights of the Washington D.C. area!

Who We Are

Columbia Union College is a regionally accredited four year liberal arts college located in Takoma Park, MD, approximately 10 minutes from downtown Washington D.C. The college was established in 1904 and is affiliated with the Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Who Can Attend:

-High School Juniors must have a 3.0 cumulative G.P.A to attend

-High School Seniors must have applied and be accepted to CUC to take advantage of this offer.  If you would like to apply go to:

What Classes Can I Take?

You may choose 1 of 3 classes offered August 1 – 18, 2005:

-Intro to Human Communication

-American History

-Jesus and the Gospels

All classes are worth 3 credits and will be held M-F from 9am – 12:30pm

Is the Tuition Really Free?

Yes!  The tuition is free which adds up to a savings of over $2,000!

Here is a breakdown of all costs:

-$275 is paid up front which includes application fee ($25), activities ($100), and refundable ($150) room deposit (refunded at the completion of the program).

-$30-$120 for the cost of books

-$90/week for food

Take advantage of activities in the D.C. area!

When you are not in class studying, enjoy the numerous activities available to you:

-You can cheer on the Orioles at beautiful Camden Yards in Baltimore

-Play at Six Flags for the day.

-Visit the capital building, Smithsonian and other popular U.S. landmarks. 

-Relax at the national mall for day with friends
