A 7 day
program designed for high school sophomores and juniors to experience
university courses and life, while safely exploring New York City!
All
students will come together for our “Entering University Life” Seminar.
This Seminar will bring in university faculty and staff
that will explain what universities look for in a strong
admissions essay, how you can “beef up” your applications and
what to expect when you get to college. The
Seminar will provide a host of activities designed to get
you prepared for the trips to universities, meetings with faculty,
staff and admissions and the hard decisions you'll have to
make when deciding what university is right FOR YOU!
The 2007
Summer Scholars Course Tracks are:
*American Politics
*Model United Nations
*Film Studies
*Behind the
Scenes - Lighting and Stage Production
*On Broadway - Acting Skills
*Legal
Studies
*Forensic Science
*Health & the Environment
*Art Studies - Painting and Design
The
classroom experience will be matched with active exploration of the
New York City cultural experience, Broadway theater, and events
specifically designed for the track that you choose. You
will also get the chance to mix with faculty, current
Pace students, and alumni, and your parents will be invited
for opening and concluding dinners to meet faculty and administrators.
At the conclusion of the program you will receive a
certificate and a summary of the experience, which can be
added to your college application portfolio.
